All my pieces of bronze jewellery are created from solid bronze not plated. I create a pattern using an epoxy modelling putty, create a silicone mould from this and cast in bronze clay. This is fired in a kiln to burn out the binder and sinter the metal.
Bronze Moon-gazing hare Pendant
Handcrafted in Solid Bronze supplied on a 18 inch Sterling Silver Chain, (better quality than shown in the image).
Size: 2.5cm
This Pendant features a sculpted scene of a Hare beneath a tree looking up at the Moon.
Onto the bezel is set a beautiful AA grade 4 mm Moonstone.
This Pendant is cast in Bronze, a material used in Jewellery for thousands of years. I created this Piece using the same traditional methods.
This piece is coated with 'Everbrite' (a skin safe coating proven to preserve its appearance). Its surface is harder than Granite and has been proven to prevent tarnishing. This takes 4 days to fully cure, so please bear this in mind.
The hare is a sacred animal in Celtic
lore. The Celts believed that it was the
goddess Eostre's favourite animal and
attendant spirit.
the Hare is a symbol of many things, all
involving balance, Life, creative
potency, regeneration, fertility, and
eternity.
This symbolism manifests in associations
with Springtime, the Dawn, the Moon and
Sacred Fire, the Egg, the Circle and
Infinity, Marriage, Genius and
Inspiration.
